“That was unfortunate. It was essentially an exchange with Cowboys supporters out in front of us,” Jones stated during a Tuesday interview. “There was a swarm of Dallas supporters—not New York fans, our fans. The whole venue was brimming with excitement for the Cowboys.”
He further emphasized that the signal was completely unintentional, occurring amid the excitement following the team’s final touchdown. “I simply put up the wrong digit,” he noted. “The action was inadvertently performed. I’m not kidding. Should you call it accidental, you can. But it got corrected rapidly.”

- Panthers proprietor Tepper was fined $300,000 for tossing a beverage at spectators in early 2024.
